Begin by applying to and obtaining acceptance from a school approved by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP). Upon acceptance, the institution will provide you with Form I-20, the Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status.
2. Pay the SEVIS I-901 Fee
Before applying for the visa, pay $350 for SEVIS I-901 fee, which funds the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
3. Complete the Online Visa Application (Form DS-160)
Fill out Form DS-160 online, providing accurate personal and educational information. After submission, Pay the Visa fee $185 and print the confirmation page for your records.
4.Schedule and Attend a Visa Interview
Schedule an interview at the U.S. embassy or consulate in your country. Be prepared to discuss your study plans, ties to your home country, and financial means.
