3. Financial Requirements
• Ensure you meet the financial requirements for a UK student visa, which includes proving that you have enough money to cover your tuition fees, living costs, and other expenses.

4. Complete the Online Visa Application (Form VAF9)

5. Pay the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS)

• The IHS fee is typically £1100 per year for students

7. Schedule and Attend a Visa Appointment
• Schedule an appointment at Visa Application Centre (VAC) now is in Masaki, for biometric data collection (fingerprints and photo).
• Prepare your documents and attend the appointment to submit your visa application, biometric information, and supporting documents
8. Visa Processing Time
• The standard processing time for a UK student visa is typically 3 weeks from the date of your appointment.
• However, processing times may vary depending on the country and application volume.
9. Visa Approval
• Once your visa is approved, you will receive a sticker (visa vignette) in your passport that allows you to enter the UK.
• If you’re applying from outside the UK, this visa will generally be valid for 30 days, allowing you to enter the UK and collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) after arrival.
10. Post-Arrival Requirements
• Collect your BRP: After arriving in the UK, you must collect your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) from a post office within 10 days of arrival.
• Register with the police: Some students are required to register with the police within 7 days of arrival, depending on their nationality.
• Report to your institution: You may need to report to your institution or your sponsor within a specific time frame after your arrival.
11. Validity and Renewal
• Your Student Visa is typically valid for the duration of your course. However, you may need to renew it if you extend your studies or if your course lasts longer than expected.
• If you plan to extend your stay beyond the validity of your visa, consult with your institution’s Student Advice Service for guidance on how to apply for a visa extension.
12. Departure from the UK
• After completing your studies, you have a grace period of up to 4 months to remain in the UK. During this time, you can either:
o Prepare for departure.
o Apply for a new visa if you plan to stay for further studies or work (e.g., Graduate Visa or Skilled Worker Visa).
